This classic cream ale is a nod to the Dutch Village Motel that once existed on our property at 525 US Route One. Route One Freeport was once lined with idyllic motor courts and quaint cottages, offering visitors to Vacationland a place to stay midway between Boston and Bar Harbor.
Coincidentally (or not), this recipe was developed by our Assistant Brewing Manager, Ben, fondly known as Dutch. Previously released under our Black Barn Program, this beer uses a blend of ale and lager yeast, which balances light fruity notes and clean pilsner-like flavor, with a subtle hop bitterness.
Dutch’s Cream Ale is available in bottles and on draft exclusively in our Freeport tasting room.
