Special Announcement
Makers on Main began as a pandemic pivot in 2020, created to support Freeport businesses and give our Fall Festival vendors a place to sell their work when everything else was cancelled. It quickly became a popular program that helped anchor new creative businesses in town and introduced hundreds of Maine artists and makers to Freeport visitors.
What started as six Saturdays that first fall evolved into a monthly market from May through September, leading into the Freeport Fall Festival. In that time, new shops like Freeport Market, Two Sisters, and M.A.D.E. have opened, all championing local makers. Events across New England are back in full swing, and new opportunities for artists continue to grow.
After six successful seasons, our original goals have been met and exceeded.
It’s time for a new chapter.
Thank you to our site hosts, sponsors, and every maker who has been part of this journey.
Makers on Main has truly been a privilege to produce.
